How BookRoket consignments move: launch coverage, booking cutoffs, transit-time estimates, rail parcels, OTP handovers, delays, and undelivered shipments.

Last updated: 27 September 2026

BookRoket (operated by Meezoy Ventures Private Limited) is a pre-launch marketplace connecting customers with independent transporters for intercity part-load movement of consignments between 20 and 500 kg. This page describes how shipments move on the platform.

1. Service scope at launch

At launch, BookRoket serves Hyderabad outbound lanes — consignments originating in Hyderabad and moving to destinations across India as published on our website. Serviceable lanes, destinations, and weight slabs are shown in the booking flow; if your route is not listed, it is not yet serviceable. Additional origin cities will be added as published on our website.

2. Booking cutoffs and pickup

  • Each lane has a daily booking cutoff time shown in the booking flow. Bookings made before the cutoff are scheduled for same-day or next-day pickup as shown; bookings after the cutoff roll to the next working day.
  • Pickup windows (for example, “10 AM – 1 PM”) are confirmed after booking. Please have the consignment packed, labelled, and ready at the start of the window, with an authorised person available to hand it over.
  • The transporter verifies the declared weight, dimensions, and commodity at pickup. Material mismatches may lead to re-quoting, additional charges, or refusal (see our Terms of Service).

3. Transit times are estimates

Transit times shown on the platform are estimates expressed as date ranges (for example, “3–5 days”), based on the transporter’s published schedule for the lane. They are not guaranteed delivery dates. Actual transit may vary with distance, mode (road or rail), hub handling, weather, and road or rail conditions.

Every booking carries an LR number you can use to follow milestone updates — pickup, hub arrival/departure, in-transit, out for delivery, and delivered — on the tracking screen.

4. Rail parcel shipments

On select lanes, consignments may move partly or wholly by rail through our manual ops adapter. For rail legs:

  • You receive a railway receipt (RR) number in addition to the LR number, and can track station milestones — booking at origin station, loading, in transit, and arrival at destination station.
  • Rail transit times depend on train schedules and railway parcel handling; estimates shown at booking already account for typical station dwell times.
  • At the destination station, goods are collected by our transporter partner and moved to the destination hub or the delivery address, per the service type you booked.

5. To-pay bookings

Where the booking flow offers “to-pay” terms, the freight is collected from the receiver at the time of delivery instead of being prepaid online. The receiver must settle the full to-pay amount — shown on the booking and the LR — before the consignment is handed over. If the receiver refuses to pay, the consignment is treated as undelivered (see section 9) and the booking customer remains liable for the freight.

6. Hub-to-hub collection windows

For hub-to-hub service, the receiver collects the consignment from the destination hub within the collection window shown on the tracking screen (typically 48 hours from arrival, or as published for the lane). Please carry the LR number and a valid government photo ID. Storage charges may apply after the free collection window, as published on our website.

7. OTP-verified handover

Delivery or hub collection is completed only after OTP verification: a one-time code is sent to the receiver’s registered phone number, and the driver or hub staff release the consignment once the correct OTP is entered. This protects against misdelivery. Do not share the OTP with anyone except the person handing over your goods at the moment of delivery.

8. Delays and re-ETA

If a consignment is delayed beyond its estimated date range, the tracking screen is updated with a revised ETA (re-ETA) as soon as the transporter confirms it. We will also notify you by SMS or app notification. Delays caused by force majeure events — floods, strikes, accidents, government orders, or rail/road blockades — are handled under the force majeure clause of our Terms of Service; we will keep you informed and re-schedule where possible. Persistent delays may be raised as a grievance at hello@bookroket.com.

9. Undelivered shipments (NDR)

If delivery cannot be completed — receiver unavailable, address inaccessible, OTP not provided, or to-pay refused — the attempt is recorded as non-delivery (NDR) and you are notified. We will attempt re-delivery as per the lane’s re-attempt policy shown on the tracking screen. If the consignment remains unclaimed after the stated attempts and holding period, it is returned to the origin (return freight applies) or, where return is not feasible, disposed of in line with applicable law — in which case the shipper bears the loss, except where the non-delivery was the transporter’s fault.

For cancellations and refunds connected to delayed or undelivered shipments, see our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
