BookRoket (operated by Meezoy Ventures Private Limited) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have — consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable rules.

1. Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to run the marketplace and fulfil your bookings:

• Contact and account data: name, phone number, email address, and business name/GSTIN where provided.
• Shipment data: pickup and delivery addresses, commodity description, declared weight and dimensions, receiver name and phone number, LR/RR numbers, and milestone tracking events.
• Payment data: transaction references, amounts, and payment method types. Card or UPI credentials are processed by our payment partners and are never stored on our servers.
• Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, approximate location (when you permit it for tracking or pickup), log data, and crash reports.
• Support communications: messages and call records when you contact our support team.

2. Purpose and lawful basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account or place a booking, and as necessary to perform our contract with you (the Terms of Service). We use your data to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you (including OTP verification).
• Match your booking with a Transporter, issue LR numbers, and provide milestone tracking.
• Process payments and issue GST invoices.
• Share pickup/delivery details with the assigned Transporter and driver for fulfilment.
• Provide customer support and handle claims, cancellations, and refunds.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and shipment of prohibited items.
• Improve the Platform and comply with legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer (see section 9). Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and we may retain data needed to complete in-progress bookings or meet legal obligations.

3. How we share your data

We share personal data only where necessary to operate the marketplace:

• Transporters and drivers: the name, phone number, and pickup/delivery addresses relevant to your consignment, so they can collect, move, and hand over the goods — including OTP-based receiver verification at delivery.
• Service providers: payment gateways, SMS/OTP providers, cloud hosting, and analytics vendors, bound by contracts to process data only on our instructions.
• Legal and safety: where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BookRoket, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party marketing without your separate consent.

4. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. Booking and shipment records (including LR details) are retained for up to 8 years to meet tax and commercial record-keeping obligations under Indian law. Account data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days of account closure unless a longer retention period is required by law or to resolve pending disputes or claims.

5. Your rights

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your data where it is no longer needed, subject to legal retention duties.
• Grievance redressal — raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
• Nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under the Act.

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@bookroket.com with the subject line “Data Rights Request”. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Children’s data

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We apply reasonable security practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls on a need-to-know basis, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of any data breach as required by law.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand usage in aggregate. Details of the cookies we use and how to manage them are in our Cookie Policy.

9. Grievance Officer

In line with the DPDP Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer is:

We acknowledge grievances within 3 working days and resolve them within 30 days of receipt. Postal address and officer name will be published on our website as and when formally designated (currently marked TBA).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always published on this page with its “Last updated” date. Material changes will be notified to registered users at least 7 days before taking effect.
